Cookie policy

Last updated October 2026. Draft for legal review. What cookies we use, why we use them and how you stay in control.

Draft for legal review. This policy is a working draft and must be reviewed by a Kenyan lawyer before publishing. Highlighted bracketed items, including the exact cookie names and lifetimes, the analytics provider and the attribution cookie period, still need to be confirmed against the live site.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, which works in much the same way. Together we call these "cookies" in this policy. Some cookies are essential for the website to work. Others help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it, and those are only set with your consent.

Our use of cookies is covered by our privacy policy and by the Data Protection Act, 2019.

2. Essential cookies

These are needed for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our settings. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site such as your cart, checkout and account will stop working.

CookiePurposeLifetime

Exact cookie names: [Confirm: list technical cookie and storage key names].

3. Analytics cookies (with your consent)

Analytics cookies help us see which pages are popular, how people move through the shop and where things go wrong, so we can improve the experience. They are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, the site works exactly the same, we simply learn less about how it is used.

  • Provider: [Confirm: analytics provider name].
  • Data collected: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and anonymised interactions such as clicks and searches.
  • Lifetime: [Confirm: cookie lifetime].

4. Third-party cookies

Some parts of our service are provided by other companies, who may set their own cookies when you use them. These include:

  • Shopify and Payhip, which host our card payment pages. Their cookies support fraud prevention and the checkout process and are governed by their own policies.
  • Embedded maps on our store page, which may set cookies from the map provider when the map loads. [Confirm: map provider].

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Your choices

  • Cookie banner. When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. Essential cookies are set regardless because the site cannot work without them.
  • Changing your mind. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time. [Confirm: how, for example a "Cookie settings" link in the footer].
  • Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check the help pages for your browser for instructions. Blocking essential cookies will affect how the site works.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.

7. Contact

Questions about cookies can be sent to contact details to be confirmed or through our contact page.
